2020 Haiku Retreat on Zoom
November 6 – 9, 2020 (Friday – Monday)
Due to Coronavirus concerns, for the first time since 1984, we will not be holding the YTHS Annual Retreat at Asilomar. The good news is that it will be held on Zoom. Fortunately for us, Emiko Miyashita will still be our featured speaker, and we will be holding four days of activities.
Emiko Miyashita is the director of JAL Foundation which holds the World Children’s Haiku Contest. She also is a judge for ESUJ-H, a monthly haiku column of the English-Speaking Union of Japan. Emiko is a dojin (leading member) of the “Ten’i Providence” Haiku Group in Japan led by Dr. Arima. In addition, she writes for the Dojin’s Column in each issue of Geppo with Patricia Machmiller.
There will be ginkos, workshops, a kukai and many opportunities to share haiku. There will also be a special celebration of the 45th Anniversary of YTHS.
We are looking forward to the retreat, and hope to see many of you there.
